How Far Can Miami Take This Streak

How Far Can Miami Take This Streak

Mar 22, 2013

Miami Heat, the team we all love to hate and hope for bitter losses, but what do we really do when they go on streaks? Streaks that accumulate to 24 wins, containing games against play-off caliber teams such as the Thunder, Clippers, Knicks, Boston (Jeff Green mostly) and even the growing Lakers-yes the Lakers are going to be a force in the playoffs. Throughout the streak, we see that the Heat’s star player, LeBron James is averaging 26.7ppg, 7.7 assists and 8 rebounds; recording 2 triple doubles during the stretch. Counterparts Wade and Bosh are also compiling extraordinary numbers with field goal percentages steadily around fifty; efficiency comes naturally for the Heat. The streak is also efficient for their record, #1 in the league with the only competition for the spot being the Spurs; only 1.5 games away and the Thunder.

The Spurs, while being one of the teams battling for best record in the league, can heighten their percentage and also break history in the making. –Let’s face it, the Heat are going to decimate the Pistons (only trouble if LeBron’s jewels get Will Bynum’d,) and they’ll probably keep the Bobcats under 80. Oh, but then you have this team that is going to be trouble, just kidding it’s the Magic with their best player (really, he is,) out with a fractured foot. Miami is highly probable to keep the Magic at bay or just washed out in an ocean, while they celebrate their 26th victory. The Bulls at #27 could have a chance and abuse Noah in the paint but I’d doubt that Miami would not go onto ‘Hack-a-Noah’, who shoots an iffy 63% and is the key-role to Chicago’s wins without Rose. Chicago has a chance to come out and start something with home arena advantage but I think Miami is going to quiet the crowd as soon as he starts his motors to go onto a triple double (you heard that here.) Next up, in the ‘Who Can Beat Miami’ saga we’ll see the Hornets trying to end history in the making by winning, but never mind it’s the Hornets, do you really expect that?—Yes, the journey to the Spurs will be pretty long and contains my ramblings but it’s probably the most important game of the Heat’s schedule from now to the playoffs.

The Spurs have the pieces to come out and put up a great game with the Heat. Tony Parker and Tim Duncan are in positions where Heat lack, Chalmers has no defensive effect on Parker and Chris Bosh, well; he’ll probably give up 20 points to Duncan and get rebounded over extensively. The Spurs haven’t beaten Miami but it was barely and Miami scraped out, now, both sides have something to show, for the Spurs, it’s breaking a streak no one else could, and for Miami, it’s beating every team that matters in the streak. Both, hefty tasks but I think the Spurs can outweigh them specifically because there’s a need for this, if they don’t win, a future Finals match-up of San Antonio and the Heat (Which isn’t irrational at all,) will be entered into without confidence. The 29th victory should be the last but, if not, we are going to see the 71-72 Lakers’ 33 game win-streak broken by the Heat, who could enter the next season with the streak still in-tact.

The Spurs are the only thing stopping this from happening, so all you Miami “hater’s” better hope or the LeBron-era Heat are going to be even more historic than what they are currently..
