So I woke up this morning to a whole lot of snow on the ground. Of course my university’s not prepared for snow, I got the day off. So I decided to chill out and play some NBA 2k14. My favorite thing to do up there is start an Association and play through all the games, go to the draft and trade players. This year 2k14 has been very up to date on rosters and rotations so I can say that most of the stuff is pretty accurate.
So I decided to start an Association with the Philadelphia 76ers and try to build them up from scratch. Man it was a lot of building to do.
When I looked at their starting lineup, I knew what I had, a group of pretty good players. Then I took a look at the bench. The first thing I could think of is who the hell are these guys? Hollis Thompson? Brandon Daives? Dewayne Dedmon?
I can’t help but look at that roster and laugh. These guys know exactly what their doing. Instead of grabbing a few decent guys who have been in the league for a while, the 76ers picked up a group of dudes who weren’t even good enough to be picked in the 2013 NBA Draft. I’m surprised these guys even got wikipedia pages to be honest. The draft class they weren’t even good enough to be apart of features a top pick that averaging 2 points right now.
Hey I like what the 76ers are doing here. They picked Michael Carter Williams who is way better than advertised, and picked Nerlens Noel who we have no idea about but can’t be as bad as some of the other first round big men. Then the team has a few trade assets in Thaddeus Young, Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes.
This team will have cap space and a high draft pick, the 76ers are tanking perfectly. If I’m a top draft pick in the 2014 NBA Draft I’m hoping I’m going to Philly they look like they have a plan.
