It’s Back to Work for Miami Heat Executives

It’s Back to Work for Miami Heat Executives

Jun 29, 2013

The Miami Heat are only a week out from winning their third NBA championship brass, days out of their victory parade through the streets of Miami, and moments away from players parading the late night talk shows.

Meanwhile, the Heat executives are back to work. Working hard to keep the roster together that just won them back-to-back championships and a core that continues to show their toughness.

So far, the Heat has exercised its option on Mario Chalmers for next season. James Jones, Rashard Lewis, and Ray Allen have all exercised their player’s option for the 2013-14 season. This is a big thing for the #HeatNation! It was not expected for Allen to make his decision so soon but please believe the Heat fans are definitely celebrating the return of the guy that made one of the biggest shots in NBA Finals history, to help the Heat win Game 6 and force a Game 7.

There are hopes of Chris “Birdman” Andersen returning next season. Which would definitely please the crowd in AmericanAirlines Arena. Andersen, a fan favorite, becomes a free agent next week. Players will be encouraging him to come back to the team that just got him his very first championship.

Noting that the Miami Heat will have an enormous luxury-tax bill next season, the only hope is that they will be able to bring back the guys that have proven to be difference makers. For example, guard Mike Miller. The Heat are bound to make some changes, so Heat fans keep your fingers crossed if your favorite player isn’t already guaranteed.

In Thursday’s NBA Draft, the Heat acquired the draft rights to G/F James Ennis from the Atlanta Hawks for a future second round draft pick.

Ennis is excited to hopefully play with LeBron James, whom he calls “the greatest player in the world.” How cool is that to get traded to the Defending Champions, as well as a shot to be a teammate of King James?

Ennis is delighted to take his talents to South Beach.
