Moving Kevin Love Will Be Best for the T-Wolves

Well this was bound to happen. In the NBA if your a top level player on a bad team you can force your way out by the means of free agency. Ever since LeBron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers, teams have been cautious about letting their all stars hit free agency. Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Deron Williams and Dwight Howard were all moved from their previous teams because of their impending free agency. Even a player such as James Harden who was on a rookie contract at the time was moved because of a similar situation. Now this summer we can add Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love to this list of stars.

After years of being on mediocre Timberwolves team it looks like Love wants out. The Wolves on the other hand are exploring trade options as they know once he hits free agency he’s as good as gone. The Wolves tried to get Love some help and this season they actually had a good season to not make the playoffs. The team had a 40-42 record and Love actually had some form of help with Kevin Martin, Corey Brewer, Nickola Pevovic and Ricky Rubio. Those guys are good but that’s not the best supporting cast for a Western Conference team trying to grab a playoff spot. They were close but apparently Love doesn’t think they’re good enough so hes good as gone this summer.

A lot of teams could use Love, a stretch power forward/ monster rebounder all star. This guy averaged 26 points and 12 rebounds on the year, those stats speak for themselves. A player like Love will bring a lot back and right now with this incoming draft class coming in, this is the best time to move Love.

Teams like the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns all are linked to Love. Personally I think Love would be an amazing addition to the Warriors or Bulls but I don’t think either team has the assets to pull off a equal trade. If I’m the Wolves I’m probably looking for a lottery pick or two to rebuild.

If the Wolves move Love this summer it’ll be best for both parties. Love will have a year to work with his new team and the Wolves will get some assets to start their rebuild. This team hasn’t really gone anywhere with Love so it’ll probably be better to make this move now before he’s gone with the Wolves taking back anything.

Was good though, it's me Everick Davis Jr. Born and raised in Portsmouth Virginia, I'm currently a senior at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. I watch every sport (not so much golf) but I am huge on the NBA. My favorite players right now are J.R. Smith, Russell Westbrook & Nick Young. Drinking beer and watching sports is my favorite past time and I do it year round! I used to play basketball on the regular until everyone else kept growing and I still stood at 5'6. So that's when I channeled my efforts into becoming the next Stephen A Smith or anything close to that. I currently write for "The Carolinian" newspaper in Greensboro, NC and intern for http://theurbantwist.com/ Random Fact about me, I love anime, my favorite one is One Piece! Second random fact, I got beatz! check me out http://www.reverbnation.com/ielabs
