Rafael Nadal: Returning to Form. Wins the 2013 Madrid Open Title

Rafael Nadal seems to be returning to form after his absence from the courts due to a knee injury. He was back in action this week at the Madrid Open. Many people had hoped for a matchup against Andy Murray, Roger Federer, or Novak Djokovic but the highly regard players saw early exits at this year’s Madrid competition.

Nadal was on a mission. He was responsible for dropping only one set in his five matches at the tournament. Nadal played for the Madrid title against 15th seeded, Stanislas Wawrinka. He continued to power, he won in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 in 1hr. 11minutes of play.

This is Nadal’s fifth title in 2013 and he plans to continue to get better as he looks to compete in the French Open later this month.
