Same old Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr.

Same old Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr.

May 5, 2013

On Saturday night, Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. looked like the same old Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. Before his fight against Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, Mayweather had not fought in over a year. His last fight was May 5, 2012 against Miguel Cotto, but you couldn’t tell from how he handled himself. Not to discredit Guerrero because he landed some heavy hits but Mayweather was just too much.

Mayweather won by unanimous decision after a 12-round slugfest to keep his Welterweight title. The three judges scored the fight in favor of Mayweather 117-111. Mayweather remains undefeated at 44-0. Guerrero (31-2-1) was hit with a total of 195 punches, 23 of those punches were connected in the eighth round when Guerrero was shook. Mayweather on the other hand, was hit with only 113 punches.

Mayweather has 32 million reasons to enjoy this victory, now that he is $32 million dollars richer. If you missed Mayweather in action, he plans to fight again in September. The Mayweather fight will be a part of the six-fight deal he has with Showtime.
