Wimbledon-favorite, Serena Williams was stunned by Germany’s Sabine Lisicki.

No. 23 ranked, Lisicki is responsible for ending the No. 1 ranked, Serena’s 34-match winning streak. The second longest streak behind sister Venus Williams (35) and guarantees that we will not see Serena in the Finals as everyone anticipated.

Lisicki is known for defeating top-10 women at Wimbledon. She is 6-4 lifetime at Wimbledon and 1-2 lifetime against Serena.

During the match-up Serena seemed like tensed one, particularly in the first set. All while Lisicki played with confidence. Williams rebounded and showed her power in the second set but Lisicki was just too much for Serena in the third.

On a somewhat off day, Serena was defeated by Lisicki 2-6, 6-1, 4-6.
