It has been reported that 20 or more baseball players may be suspended for their connection to the Biogenesis of America clinic in Miami, FL. Big names such as Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Braun, Bartolo Colon, Melky Cabrara, and Everth Cabrera are among those that are being accused of using performance-enhancing drugs from the Bio clinic.
The Biogenesis clinic’s owner, Tony Bosch has agreed to testify for his involvement in the player’s PEDs usage. First-time offenders may receive a 50-game suspension but second-time offenders such as Braun and Rodriguez may receive a 100-game suspension as well as other punishment.
This case is far from over, players have the right to an appeals process if and when suspensions occur. It is noted that Minor League players involved do not have the same luxury of appeal through arbitration.
