Angel McCoughtry  If you’ve watch an Atlanta Dream game or you’ve been keeping track of them this season, you know that Angel McCoughtry is doing everything for the Dream.

Currently the team sits on a 9-1, league best, record.

Only five weeks into the season and McCoughtry leads the league in scoring and leads her team in points and assists.

Although her numbers may be impressive (20.7 pts., 4.6 assts, 5.8 rebs, 3.9 stls), her focus and versatility is even more impressive.

McCoughtry has been named the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week three times already this season, and is on pace to ranking up even more recognitions.

The 4th year G-F, out of the University of Louisville, has put up solid numbers each year in the league, her growth is easily recognizable today.

Based on her leadership and her ability to control the game, she is currently leading the MVP race.

There are other players that have been brought up in MVP conversation but McCoughtry shows that she can impact the game from various angles this season.

She continues to fill up stat sheets and has done a great job in contributing to her team winning nine games so far this season.

It may be only the first quarter of the season, but McCoughtry is showing no signs of slowing down.

The impact that she has had in games so far this season, leading the Dream in two stat categories, and the fact that her team continues to win games is the reasons why Angel McCoughtry is the WNBA’s Most Valuable Player.

Honorable mentions: Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Sun), Candace Parker (LA Sparks), Maya Moore (Minnesota Lynx), Elena Delle Donne (Chicago Sky).
