Wild Card Weekend: Packers vs 49ers

Wild Card Weekend: Packers vs 49ers

Jan 4, 2014

Packers vs. 49ers Sunday 1/5 4:40 PM

Aaron Rodgers returned in impressive fashion last week throwing for 318 yards and two touchdowns, the Packer’s offense is feeling hot going into the playoffs. But Rodgers will get tested quickly against a dominant 49ers defense in a frigid Lambeau Field.

The opposing quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, will look to continue his hot streak that has led the 49ers to six straight wins, and throwing ten touchdowns to one interception over that span. Both quarterbacks are playing well right now.

The weather proves to be playing in Green Bay’s favor as a typical January game in Green Bay, Wisconsin. With temperatures on Sunday approaching record limits of the “Ice Bowl” of the 1967 NFC Championship Game. The weather will prove to test the mental toughness of the west coast 49ers. Rodgers is used to playing in the frigid weather of Lambeau Field, while Kaepernick will be testing his abilities in frigid weather.

With the playing style favoring the 49ers rushing attack and defensive mindset, Rodgers will have to fight the adversity, Rodgers will look to lean heavily on break out rookie running back Eddie Lacy to carry some of the load in freezing weather in order to pull out a victory and move onto the NFC Divisional round.

Take into affect a freezing Green Bay, Wisconsin, a emerging young talent in Eddie Lacy, a revitalized Aaron Rodgers and a serious home field advantage against a west coast San Francisco team, I’m looking for the Packers to squeak out a big win against San Francisco.

Prediction: Green Bay 24-21
