There has been talk for a while now about the Charlotte Bobcats changing their name back to the Charlotte Hornets since the New Orleans Hornets team filed paperwork to become the Pelicans. Bobcats owner, Michael Jordan, acknowledges that there was been action taken to get the Hornets name back in Charlotte.
If you have been to a Bobcats game you know that fans are still wearing their throwback Charlotte Hornets jerseys and often speak of the team when they had Alonzo Mourning, Larry Johnson, Muggsy Bogues, and others.
For the Charlotte fans it makes sense for them to convert back. Especially since the team hasn’t been good since the Hornet days. The Bobcats organization needs to do something to gain the commitment back from fans so a name change and a good draft pick will definitely steer them in the right direction. I say go for it!
