Well after sitting out a whole year, Andrew Bynum well be suiting up for a new team next year. The big jerk man will be with the Cleveland Cavaliers next year which is a good pick up. The deal is worth $24 million over 2 years. The team has an option for the second year and if he pulls the same mess as last season, it’s okay because only 6 million is guaranteed.
The Cavs have been making some low-key very good moves this offseason. First they shocked the world by selected UNLV combo forward Anthony Bennett number one in the draft. Then they got Earl Clark away from the Lakers on a pretty decent contract. Then they got the best damn backup point guard to ever do it in the league with Jarrett Jack. Now they have Andrew Bynum.
Somebody was bound to pick up the one time all-star after Philly decided to trade for the Number 6 pick, Nerlens Noel, who plays the same position as Bynum. Nobody could really blame Philly for not resigning Bynum as he didn’t play the entire season because of some strange injuries. I know I wouldn’t have resigned him after seeing a video of him salsa dancing during the playoffs. Now he’s headed to Cleveland, a place that he can really do some damage.
This is an amazing pick for Cleveland because they didn’t overpay for one, and secondly they got an all-star big man! Even if Andrew Bynum gets hurt or doesn’t play as well, he still has Anderson Varejao backing him up, and Tyler Zeller there for extra insurance. The Cavs definitely won’t be beating LeBron to a championship now but they can definitely make the playoffs with the team they have now. Hopefully if Bynum is healthy, there can be some great basketball going down in Cleveland.
