During game 1 of the NBA Finals, NBA superstar LeBron James had to leave the contest because he had cramps. James had put on a great performance before he had to be taken out and his Miami Heat team was only two points down with a few minutes to go in the game. James clearly tried to fight threw the pain but couldn’t do anything about it but sit and the Heat lost the game. To add to the cramps James had the AT & T Center’s air conditioning wasn’t working to the players were playing in harsh temperatures.
Of course most people thought that the heat in the arena shouldn’t matter and that LeBron should of played through the cramps. Of course people went on about how Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant would of played through the cramps because you know to LeBron haters, he’ll never be like one of those two.
Now I understand that these are professional athletes and they do this for a living but at the same time these athletes are human. LeBron James is a human, things can hurt him and I think sometimes people forget that. People act like since he’s such a great player there should be nothing to ever affect his game. The man couldn’t move and literally had to be carried off the floor. He isn’t the first player to suffer from cramps and definitely won’t be the last.
We live in the age where its so easy to voice your opinion because of social media. Social media is great for some things but the constant bashing of athletes can get annoying. I guess people expect more out of athletes sometimes but man it gets ridiculous at times like this. Simple things that affect us in every day life like heat or cramps effect these athletes as well, they are humans just like us.
