This season in the WNBA, a familiar face took home the MVP award. Of course the biggest star of the league (and sexiest) Candace Parker, the Los Angeles
Sparks forward had to win the award this year, when the MVP race was so darn close. Parker definitely deserved the reward but had stiff competition in the
voting from Minnesota’s Maya Moore and Chicago’s Elena Delle Donne who came in 2nd and 3rd place in the voting.Parker averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists this season as she helped lead the Sparks to the number two seed in the Western Conference (24-10). This is really nothing new for Parker as she already won her first MVP award in 2008, during her rookie season. Just in case you didn’t understand, she won MVP during her rookie year, now that’s a bad chick. Parker’s versatile skill set will definitely come in handy as the WNBA playoffs have just begun.
If there was anybody else that could have won the MVP award I would have to say it would Diana Taurasi. Now that girl can really ball, and she balled her ass off for most of the season. As good as Moore and Delle Donne were this season it’s still a shock that Taurasi only came in 6th place in the voting. Candace Parker will be looking to win her first WNBA championship this year after falling short every other year. After already being named regular season MVP twice and all-star game MVP, being named WNBA Finals MVP has to be next.
