When Nick Foles threw 7 touchdown passes yesterday and tied with the great Peyton Manning for the most touchdown passes in a NFL game. The first thing I thought was what the hell? The second thing I thought was, isn’t he starting because Mike Vick is out? Then the last thing I thought was is this guy really that nice?
Lets take a look at the stats here. Foles threw 22 out of 28 completed passes. That’s video game stats. Oh yeah and he threw 406 yards, yet again video game stats. Oh yeah and let’s add in the fact that this happened with a full fourth quarter to play, which he didn’t since the Eagles had already secured the win.
This is even crazier from the fact that his last start he was pretty damn garbage. Last game he was 11 of 29 for 80 yards and had to leave because of a concussion. It hard to say this guy is nice despite that great game.
He’s pretty inconsistent when he does play as last game has to be considered his ceiling of success. You just don’t play better than that, especially when your merely a average player. Then when we take into the fact that he only starts when Mike Vick is injured says something. Vick has been so injury prone that Foles should of easily taken his spot.
I won’t say that Foles performance wasn’t amazing because it was. I’m just saying the only way Nick Foles will be considered nice over here is when he produces at a consistent rate (and takes Vick spot). Until then, answering the titles question, nah.
