Apparently some teams still think its the preseason. That has to be the only excuse as to why some of the NBA bottom dwellers have had a hot start. When you take a look at the NBA standings, you’ll notice that only 4 teams (2 from each conference) are still undefeated. Those teams are the Indiana Pacers, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Houston Rockets.
The Rockets and Pacers are supposed to be nice, since well they are a championship contending team. The Timberwolves are supposed to be better this year but I can say that I did not see them finishing the first week of the NBA season undefeated. Now the real shocker is the fact that the 76ers still havent tooken a L yet.
This is a team that was projected to not even have double digit wins this season, and they already beat the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls. Did people not do their research on Michael Carter-Williams? This kid has been sensational in the first week, if the season ended today he would hands down be Rookie of theYear! I read something about how players aren’t “in” on teams tanking plans, and I can believe that from how the 76ers are playing.
Evan Turner, Thadius Young & Spencer Hawes are showing that their veteran presence on the team means something and have been leading the squad. Then you have MCW balling like crazy.
Other supposedly bad teams such as the Phoniex Suns, have been playing pretty well also. Every team is playing hard in the league. There is a certain compition level that we havent seen in a while in this league. I am fully aware that this level of competition won’t last and the true contenders will show their heads soon enough, but it’s nice to see teams playing hard, it’s nice to see teams want to win.
I can see this now the bad teams are going to put up fights this year. Everyone is going down swinging.
