It took Indiana forever to do it but the Pacers finally defeated the Hawks in game 7 and now will take on the Washington Wizards in the semi finals. In game 7 the Pacers finally played like their old selfs again and were in control for the whole game. The Hawks had no business on the floor with the Pacers and the Pacers finally showed that with an impressive win to take the series.
Throughout the Atlanta series, the Pacers didn’t look good, even when they won. Ever since bringing in Evan Turner the team had fallen apart and weren’t the same Pacers that dominated through the first half of the season and had two all stars in Paul George and Roy Hibbert. The team was so good that there was even a question if they should of had a third all star with Lance Stephenson. In game 7 the Pacers looked like that team again.
The real question is will the Pacers be that same dominant team in the second round against the Wizards. The Wizards are a team that is very deep with options at every position. George Hill couldn’t guard Jeff Teague so imagine how he’s going to do with John Wall. The match up of Lance Stephenson and Bradley Beal should be very intriguing with neither having a clear advantage. Paul George definitely will have to show up against the three and d man Trevor Ariza. Oh yeah and Washington has bigs just like Indiana so Hibbert has no excuses. David West versus Nene should be very fun to watch and Marcin Gortat should put Hibbert to the test.
Right now I’m picking the Wizards to win this series until Indiana proves me wrong.
