NFL football up in New York is always one of my favorite side shows. I take that back, all sports in New York are my favorite side show. If its Knicks, Nets, Yankees, Giants or Jets, you have yourself a story. Today the attention is on the New York Jets.
Usually preseason football doesn’t mean too much or really show much about a team. That’s usually because the backups are playing so the starters don’t get hurt in a pointless game. Well the Jets tried that but he results ended with a question of who will be the starting quarterback. Oh no, it wasn’t because a backup played that good either.
After the garbage performance he put up last season Mark Sanchez was already on the hot seat. Then Rex Ryan decided to put Sanchez in the game early in the fourth quarter. If things could go any worse somebody would of gotten fired right then and there, and that could still happen. Then in typical Jet fashion something had to go wrong, even though they won the game, Sanchez injured his throwing arm. At that point there was nothing to prove for Sanchez because he had already earned the starting job.
The only reason Sanchez was going to be the starter was because; well Geno Smith played very bad in the first half. I like Geno but man he was awful out there. Three intersections is just unacceptable, especially in one half. Well he’s definitely going to be playing now since Sanchez is hurt. Oh you know Rex Ryan was pissed, and he should be. His starter is hurt and his hyped up recently drafted backup isn’t ready. Another day, another problem for the Jets.
