We all saw it. Erin Andrews was trembling in fear. No one saw this type of explosion on a post-game interview coming.
Richard Sherman after his game winning tip on Michael Crabtree in the dying seconds of the NFC final between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers, provided an interview for the ages.
Claiming that he is “THE BEST CORNER IN THE GAME, he ranted about Michael Crabtree being a “sorry” receiver who tried him at the end of the game. Media attention extensively covered this situation and may have wrongly portrayed Sherman.
The man graduated from Stanford and even started working on his Masters. Hailing from Compton, CA, a city very well known for its gang violence and extensive high school drop out rates was able to graduate high school with a 4.2 GPA and to graduate from one of the top academic institutions in the county. But no one knows about that.
No one knows about his intellectual approach to the game and how he uses it even more than his athleticism. What is being widely portrayed by the media is his brash and thug demeanor.
Now the question is, could his post game divulgence of animosity come back to haunt him? Will a loss in the Superbowl give him the reputation as a talker who couldn’t deliver in key moments? It certainly could, but if he wins he will solidify himself as the best cornerback in the game.
