The Boston RedSox bullpen has already been depleted with injuries. After getting news about Joel Hanrahan’s status, things are looking so much worse. Joel “The Hammer” Hanrahan is a right handed pitcher for the RedSoxs. He pitched 59.2 innings with 67 strikeouts, last season. Hanrahan, a two time All-star, is in his first season with Boston after being traded by the Pirates. He saved four RedSox games this season with his pitching, which gave him the role of a closer. After injuring his forearm, Harahan’s status this season and with the Redsox became questionable. News just came in that Harahan will be forced to have season ending surgery. He is also a free agent at the end of this season and it doesn’t seem he will return to the RedSoxs next season.
