Is Eric Bledsoe the Next NBA Superstar?

Was I the only one who thought that the Los Angeles Clippers trade of Eric Bledsoe & Caron Butler  for Jared Dudley & JJ Reddick was completely garbage? When I first heard what the Clippers did I was almost disgusted. The Clippers had been rumored to deal Bledsoe for players like Indiana’s Danny Granger and Aaron Aafflo, trades that I thought were pretty damn good.

Then they turn around and trade Bledsoe (and Caron Butler) for a way over hyped JJ Reddick and Jared Dudley. Let’s be real here Reddick did improve last season but his stats and play were vastly inflated because of the straight up terrible teams he played on. Dudley wasn’t hyped at all, he just magically was billed as a lock-down shooter because he was involved in the trade. The Clippers needed a go to scorer, shooters were an OK gesture but nah. When your top two players are a dunk master and a pure point guard, you need a guy who can create his own shot, that’s not your 6th man (sorry Jamaal Crawford).

Now on to Bledsoe. The Clippers traded him to a supposedly bad team. They were supposed to be bad but Bledsoe was supposed to be a building block for the future. Well like most plans this NBA season, that’s not exactly how things played out. Eric Bledsoe has looked like a superstar, having his own team to lead. His team is four games over 500 at 13-9 and hes a big reason behind that. Similar to last years James Harden to the Houston Rockets trade, Bledsoe is shining as the teams leader.

Bledsoe has definitely lived up to his Mini LeBron nickname as hes currently averaging 19 points, 6 assist and 4 rebounds. He’s shooting almost 50 percent from the field and almost 35 percent from the free throw line. He’s shooting better than ever, he’s getting to the basket with ease and is playing inspiring defense.

What makes this deal so bad for the Clippers is that they actually could of kept Bledsoe and given him a bigger role. The idea was that Bledsoe could only be a backup point guard in LA because of Chris Pauls presence. Well the Suns have been playing Bledsoe and Goran Dragic (another point guard) together and their balling on defenders. If Dragic and Bledsoe works, I know Paul and Bledsoe could of worked.

Welp as Bledsoe continues to develop and lead the Suns to be a good team, the Clipper trade will look way worse. You guys trade a potential superstar for JJ Reddick and Jared Dudley, let that one sink in.

Was good though, it's me Everick Davis Jr. Born and raised in Portsmouth Virginia, I'm currently a senior at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. I watch every sport (not so much golf) but I am huge on the NBA. My favorite players right now are J.R. Smith, Russell Westbrook & Nick Young. Drinking beer and watching sports is my favorite past time and I do it year round! I used to play basketball on the regular until everyone else kept growing and I still stood at 5'6. So that's when I channeled my efforts into becoming the next Stephen A Smith or anything close to that. I currently write for "The Carolinian" newspaper in Greensboro, NC and intern for http://theurbantwist.com/ Random Fact about me, I love anime, my favorite one is One Piece! Second random fact, I got beatz! check me out http://www.reverbnation.com/ielabs
