Louisville – Now, Later and Everything You Need to Know

Louisville – Now, Later and Everything You Need to Know

Apr 9, 2013

NOW:

Louisville Cardinals kicked butt this year in the NCAA. With the wins under their belt, they exceeded their limits in the Finals and won over Michigan.

Ricky Pitino is one lucky man. His horse wins the Santa Anita Derby. He is elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame. His son gets the head coaching job in Minnesota. And now his team wins the national championship 82-76.

The story turned out this way. Louisville team was pressing, running, and 3-point gunning finding a way to throw down and hammer the game into the shape it wanted. Louisville won this game in the half court. It won it in the lane. It won it on the glass. It won it in style!

DRAFT ENTRIES:

Rick Pitino is losing Gorgui Dieng and Russ Smith. Dieng is expected as a mid-first-round pick, but Smith would be battling the odds. There’s a big possibility that he won’t be taken in the first round, and therefore Smith’s ability to make an NBA roster is a maybe. Gorgui Dieng was the starting center for the national champion Louisville Cardinals and Russ Smith was a big scorer for them.

PITINO’s STYLE:

Rick Pitino is the philosopher of the hoops. His style is fast, fun, understanding and strong. He is the whole package!

LATER:

Losing center Gorgui Dieng is a huge blow to the Cardinals as they don’t have a legitimate replacement. Forward, Luke Hancock shocked the world as he went from a pure bench player to a key figure in the Cardinals victory over Michigan for the National Title. Word has it that Hancock is already working out for his senior season. With him, the team is strong.

Louisville is counting on Chase Behanan (9.8 points, 6.5 rebounds), Wayne Blackshear, and a healthy Kevin Ware to play a major role on this team.

Finally, Smith, if he stays, Louisville will be as strong as ever, but without him, chances are slim.

All in all, Louisville is a great team and is bound to have a great future. The early draft entries blow, but with Pitino as the chef, this team could be the winning recipe.
