M-V-P for the King… What’s Next, a Ring?

M-V-P for the King… What’s Next, a Ring?

May 4, 2013

Just when you think you have seen all that Miami Heat’s LeBron James has to offer, he comes back stronger than ever. That is what he did coming into this season. You can go on and on about LeBron James and his heroics, he continues to shut the mouth of critics year after year. He boasts his highest shooting percentage (.565) and career best three point shooting numbers (.406) since entering the league. He has stepped up in every way possible. No more of the chatter of him not performing in the fourth quarter, this season he has closed out games single handily on numerous occasions for the Heat. He leads his team in scoring (26.8ppg), rebounds (8.0) and assists (7.3).

As a huge LeBron James fan, I am very excited for him. The NBA has seen for the 4th time what I had envisioned since LeBron entered the league in 2003. LeBron James has been named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the fourth time in five years. Only Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, and Wilt Chamberlain has four Maurice Podoloff Trophies.

It is scary to think James is only 28 years old and has a lot of basketball left to offer. James was asked where he could improve to elevate his game even more and his reply was improving his free throw shooting percentage which is a 75.3 percent. He stated his desire to bring his free throw percentage to the 80s percentile.

As soon as the MVP festivities have been cleaned up, the focus is back to the pursuit of championship ring #2. LeBron James nor the Miami Heat are not taken anything for granted and it shows on the court. They continue to be a dominant force and James, Wade, Bosh and company are zoned in on defending their title as Champions. They have had over a week to rest and nurse injuries so that they are mentality and physically prepared for the second round of the playoffs.
