NBA Free Agency: Who’s Left

NBA Free Agency: Who’s Left

Aug 19, 2013

The superstars are all off the market now. Free agency in the NBA has been going on for a month and some change now. That doesn’t mean that there still aren’t some decent players left on board. Here are some of best free agents still out there and what team should sign them.

Lamar Odom

Ev’s Destination: Los Angeles Clippers

What better way to start than with good ole LO? Look this is pretty simple, the Clippers want you back. Odom hasn’t been very good in recent years so he should just go back to where he’s wanted or retire.

Antwan Jamison

Ev’s Destination: Charlotte Bobcats

Last summer Antwan Jamison said he wanted to come finish his career at home in Carolina, instead he went to Los Angeles and had a terrible season, karma? Even though the Cats have plenty of power forwards I’m pretty sure Jamison will get some run, and besides you’re the Clippers backup plan for Odom, that’s not good.

Richard Hamilton

Ev’s Destination: Oklahoma City Thunder

This is probably a little bias because I grew up a huge Rip Ham fan but I think Hamilton and OKC would be an ideal fit. They need someone to replace Kevin Martin’s scoring off the bench and I think a combination of Rip Hamilton, Jeremy Lamb, & Reggie Jackson can get it done. Hamilton is towards the end of his career so joining a contender like Oklahoma City would be beneficial.

Ivan Johnson

Ev’s Destintion: New York Knicks

This came down to the Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies. Since the Grizzlies are going all in on this Grit N Grind movement why not get a guy who looks just as scary as Zach Randolph? Even with that said the Knicks have like 4 injury prone power forwards so Johnson would definitely get some run and he’s the type of guy who knows his role, which is what you need around Melo.

Drew Gooden

Ev’s Destination: Atlanta Hawks

Drew Gooden’s been on a lot of teams. There’s not that many that he hasn’t played for so I decided to choose one where I know he hasn’t played. The Hawks could use a extra big behind Al Horford and Paul Millsap, get Gooden. You guy’s can probably trade him at the deadline anyway, it always happens.

Ronnie Brewer

Ev’s Destination: Houston Rockets

The Rockets weren’t known as a defensive team last year. Yeah they got Dwight Howard and Omar Asik holding down the paint but adding Ronnie Brewer here to help the perimeter defense would be a great added bonus.

Jason Collins

Ev’s Destination: Brooklyn Nets

Even though Jason Collins really isn’t a top player I still had to include him. He came out the closet earlier this year and still hasn’t been picked up by a team. He already main history as the first active gay male athlete in one of America’s big sports to come out, now he needs to make history gain by playing this season. Collins coming out the closet would mean a little less if he doesn’t play anymore. He should head on to Brooklyn, and play for the team that he started his career at, plus they love a good gimmick.

Was good though, it's me Everick Davis Jr. Born and raised in Portsmouth Virginia, I'm currently a senior at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. I watch every sport (not so much golf) but I am huge on the NBA. My favorite players right now are J.R. Smith, Russell Westbrook & Nick Young. Drinking beer and watching sports is my favorite past time and I do it year round! I used to play basketball on the regular until everyone else kept growing and I still stood at 5'6. So that's when I channeled my efforts into becoming the next Stephen A Smith or anything close to that. I currently write for "The Carolinian" newspaper in Greensboro, NC and intern for http://theurbantwist.com/ Random Fact about me, I love anime, my favorite one is One Piece! Second random fact, I got beatz! check me out http://www.reverbnation.com/ielabs
