The 2013 Women’s Basketball Tournament has had its share of thrills and shockers. We are now down to the Final Four and the stage has been set. The California Golden Bears led by senior Layshia Clarendon will take on senior Shoni Schimmel and the Louisville Cardinals. Louisville coming off the remarkable wins against Baylor and Tennessee look to take control early and give the Golden Bears all they have. The Golden Bears are in the Final Four for the first time in the school’s history after defeating LSU and Georgia to get to this point. They are looking to continue making school history.
On the other hand, everyone will definitely be glued to the television to watch the Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on the University of Connecticut Huskies. The Huskies are in a familiar place, being in the Final Four. They look to defeat the Fighting Irish to get back to the title game in which they won the championship last in 2010. Notre Dame on the other hand, look to do exactly what they name states, Fight!
These are two great matchups. I can’t wait to see who makes it to the title game. How exciting will it be to see Cal and UCONN compete for the title?
