Plenty of Draft Prospects Looking to Make Immediate Fantasy Football Impacts

Thanks to the NFL pushing the 2014 NFL Draft to May, there has certainly been a lot of time to speculate who will go where. People in fantasy football are anxious to see where the most dynamic players on offense will end up. Here is a closer look at three guys ready to make a fantasy football impact from day one if given the opportunity.

Blake Bortles

No one knows where Bortles will play this fall just yet, but a number of teams looking at him don’t have a starter they are in love with. Cleveland, Jacksonville and Minnesota all have pretty heavy interest, and they all pick in the top 10. Some experts believe that Bortles would benefit from learning a system on the sidelines early instead of on the field, but he already has the NFL size to have success.

Sammy Watkins

For most wide receivers, they would only be able to have success as rookies if they are in the right situation. Watkins is talented enough that he should be able to make things work anywhere. If he is selected in the top five, he could be an instant #1 target, or he could blend in with veterans like Andre Johnson (Houston) and Josh Gordon (Cleveland). Rookie wide receivers aren’t usually thought of too highly in fantasy football, but Watkins is the exception.

Carlos Hyde

This will likely be the second straight year that a running back is not taken in the first round. However, guys like Eddie Lacy and Giovani Bernard showed a season ago that a talented runner could still have success in fantasy football as a rookie. Carlos Hyde fits that kind of mold. He is talented enough to start or at least get a lot of touches right away, and he already has NFL size.
